We invite applications for a joint postdoc position at the University of Zurich (UZH) and the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in experimental particle physics research on the CMS experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider.
Our newly established research group is engaged in data analysis, software, and operations of the CMS detector. The main focus of our physics analyses is the investigation of the Higgs boson and its interaction with heavy quarks. Furthermore, we have an active part in the operation and maintenance of the phase-1 barrel pixel detector as well as in the design and construction of the extended pixel system for the CMS upgrade in view of high-luminosity LHC (HL-LHC). The successful candidates are expected to take a leading role in both fields, data analysis and detector hardware. The position is limited to three years.
Applicants must hold a PhD degree and have a solid experience in experimental particle physics. Applicants should upload a cover letter, curriculum vitae, research statement, publication list, and arrange at least three letters of recommendation to be submitted by the reference writers to be uploaded at this site.
Materials should be received by January 15, 2020.
Enquiries concerning the positions can be made to Prof. Dr. Lea Caminada (lea.caminada@physik.uzh.ch). |
