Duke University School of Medicine invites applications and nominations for a Professor of Medicine with a focus in health policy and health care reform. Candidates should have a record of outstanding scholarship in academic medicine and health policy and management, along with a commitment to excellence in research, education, and mentoring, and an interest in ongoing work on policy analysis and implementation.

Research areas of specific interest include healthcare transformation, payment and care reform, value-based care, real-world evidence policy and implementation, and biomedical innovation and entrepreneurship for health and healthcare. The faculty member will be a Core Faculty Member within the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy. The faculty member will jointly have a faculty appointment in one or more of the clinical science or basic science Departments at the School of Medicine, depending on fit.

Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy was established in 2016 and seeks to address critical health policy challenges and deliver practical, innovative, and evidence-based solutions to improve health and the value of health care for all. The interdisciplinary Center brings together faculty and students from across Duke’s schools of medicine, nursing, law, public policy, business, and engineering. The Center fosters excellence, leadership, and scholarship at every level.

Duke University School of Medicine is consistently ranked as one of the top medical schools in the country. The signature clinical facility of the Duke University Health System is Duke University Hospital, a Magnet hospital.

Candidates should have an MD and/or PhD degree, and academic credentials that qualify for appointment at the level of full Professor.
