Position Description:    

Duke University, Departments of Biomedical Engineering seeks to hire a Postdoctoral associate in the field of genome engineering technologies, gene regulation, and gene therapy. The successful candidate will work in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Center for Advanced Genomic Technologies with Dr. Charles Gersbach.

An ideal candidate for this position will be an individual with a Ph.D. degree in cell biology, stem cell and developmental biology, bioengineering, pathology, genetics, chemical-biology or a related field; or an individual with an M.D.-Ph.D. degree with strong research experiences in these areas. Candidates proficient in cellular and molecular biology, functional genomics, epigenetics, gene delivery, and/or CRISPR/Cas9 genome engineering are particularly encouraged to apply. There will be significant opportunities for professional growth, including authorship of scientific publications, inventorship on patent applications, contributions to professional grant applications, presentations and scientific conferences, and other career development activities.

A successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects within the scope of: (1) development of innovative genome engineering technologies; (2) functional genomics and mechanisms of gene regulation; (3) mechanisms of cell fate specification; (4) pre-clinical develop of gene therapies for diverse disorders.
