Position Summary:
The Department of Finance and Real Estate in the Sy Syms School of Business of Yeshiva University seeks one Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the field of Real Estate and Urban Economics. The successful candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate students at the Sy Syms School of Business, conduct scholarly research and perform university service.

Yeshiva University, through the Sy Syms Department of Finance and Real Estate, is developing a new 1 year Real Estate Finance Graduate Program. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of that program which is expected to launch in Fall 2020. This position represents an excellent opportunity to contribute to the launch and the ongoing development of the scholarly presence in Real Estate at an internationally recognized research institution.

Position Responsibilities:

Principal Duties:

  • Create and maintain a strong program of research
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in the Sy Syms School of Business
  • Provide classroom and individual instruction for undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students
  • Contribute to the intellectual and academic life of the department. University and community service will be expected as appropriate.

Experience & Educational Background:

Basic qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent international degree) or enrolled in a PhD (or equivalent international degree) granting program at the time of application.

Preferred qualifications: We are especially interested in applicants with a PhD in Economics or Finance with a focus on real estate, real estate capital markets, or consumer finance. We prefer applicants who currently have a PhD or who have advanced to PhD candidacy and will complete the doctoral degree or equivalent degree within six months of the start date.
