Harvey Mudd College invites applications for a one-year visiting faculty position in the Biology Department at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning fall 2020. We are seeking candidates with teaching and research expertise in an area of molecular or cellular biology; specific interests might include genetics, developmental biology, cell biology, microbiology, immunology, synthetic biology, or systems biology. We seek candidates who have a significant interest in education and are dedicated to becoming an excellent undergraduate teacher. Likely teaching assignments include a non-majors introductory lab course and an advanced course in molecular and cellular biology. Modest space and funds for research are potentially available.

Harvey Mudd College is a small and highly selective private undergraduate college of science, mathematics, and engineering. In their first two years, all Harvey Mudd students complete a core curriculum comprising courses in biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics, and physics, as well as the humanities, social sciences and arts. Harvey Mudd is a member of The Claremont Colleges (http://www.claremont.edu), a group that includes four other undergraduate colleges and two graduate institutions. Claremont is about 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
