Title: Research
Associate in Global Cancer Epidemiology The Department of Population Health Sciences at Duke University School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Associate in global cancer epidemiology. Our program utilizes theoretical frameworks and methods from social and molecular epidemiology to investigate health disparities across the cancer prevention continuum in the US and abroad. Ongoing projects involve collaborations with partners to generate scientific evidence aimed at understanding and addressing the fundamental causes of cancer disparities The Research Associate will work in a collaborative, team-based and diverse environment to provide scientific input for day-to-day research activities such as developing analytical plans, statistical analysis, publishing manuscripts, contributing to grants, project management, and collaborating with data analysts, students, post-docs and faculty on the team Basic Qualifications: Doctoral
qualification in epidemiology, statistics, public health or a closely related
field with 2+ years practical research experience. The ideal candidate will
have strong training or experience in epidemiologic methods and research,
formal training in cancer, and a strong interest/experience in global health
research. Desired skills: · Excellent
analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills · Experience
with applied research including ability to generate research questions, conduct
data analysis and synthesize results · Excellent
scientific writing skills · Expert
knowledge and practical experience in study design, sampling approaches, and
advanced statistical methods · Experience
managing prospective studies and quantitative/qualitative data collection · Expert
knowledge of statistical packages e.g. SAS, R, STATA · Excellent
