Postdoctoral openings at the Bio-integrated Microdevices Laboratory – Koç University. The group of Asst. Prof. Levent Beker at Koç University, Istanbul, has several open postdoctoral positions available. The group develops wearable/implantable medical devices and focuses on overcoming critical medical challenges using novel transducers (MEMS or flexible sensors). More info about the group can be found at http://microdevices.ku.edu.tr Open positions available in: • Ultrasonic sensor development: design, simulate and fabricate piezoelectric-based ultrasonic transducers in cleanroom environment. Perform acoustic characterization of the fabricated devices; in vitro and in vivo characterization studies. (Preferred background: EE/ME with demonstrated acoustics/ultrasound and microfabrication experience) • Novel bio-material development: Develop and synthesis of biodegradable or piezoelectric materials. Integrate new materials into microfabrication processes. Design materials to desired electrical/mechanical properties and characterize to elucidate such properties. (Preferred background: Material Science/BioEng/ChemEng/Chemistry with elastomeric polymer material development experience) • Antenna development: design and fabricate antennas for far and near-field applications for compact implantable or wearable devices. Develop models and simulation of antenna-to-device coupling behavior. Characterization of antennas & wireless systems. Implement wireless communication methods to the developed wearable devices. (Preferred background: EE with demonstrated RF background) All positions require communicating high impact discoveries to the scientific community through publications in journals and patents. Graduate students near completion of their Ph.D. are welcome and encouraged to apply.
