DevLab@Duke has openings for Pre/Post-Doctoral fellows working on an innovative project that combines machine learning and forecasting with extensive expert-based data collection and coordinated, cross-country field interventions. The project has two aims: first, to understand and forecast democratic breakdowns with an eye toward defending civil society against repression; and second, to detect and forecast authoritarian influence abroad.

Excellent data skills are necessary. Experience with visualization, python and R are desirable.

Prospective candidates are expected to have done graduate work in one or more of these areas: •International Development •Economics •Political Science •Statistics •Computer Science Successful candidates will collaborate with Professors Scott de Marchi and Erik Wibbels, as well other members of DevLab in an interdisciplinary environment.
