Research Assistant Professor – Biological Physics

The Department of Physics at the University of Washington invites applications for a Research Assistant Professor at 100% FTE in biological physics for an anticipated appointment beginning in early 2020. This is a full time, 12 month position and is not tenure eligible. The research assistant professor will work with undergraduate students, graduate students and postdocs of the nanopore research group in the UW Physics Department, whose current activities are focused on developing nanopore technology for sequencing of DNA and single-molecule enzymology. In addition to research and educational efforts, the research assistant professor will share administrative activities and actively participate in grant writing and the solicitation of external support.

The successful applicant will have a PhD (or foreign equivalent) and postdoctoral experience of at least three years in experimental biophysics and will have a strong background in bio-nanotechnology and statistical data analysis.
