Position Description:

Participates in College of Pharmacy-related outreach and engagement as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, including coordinating and leading immersive science exploration experiences at the Center for Science and Industry, the administration and teaching of two summer science enrichment and career exploration programs for high school students, as well as developing and delivering hands-on experiences that engage the community to better understand pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. Teaches and/or directs the equivalent of two undergraduate courses per year, including but not limited to science communication courses and/or General Education courses. Supervises and mentors graduate teaching assistants (GTAs) or graders; attends program and college faculty meetings; serves on ad hoc committees; supports efforts for the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Required Experience: The applicant must have undergraduate live and online teaching experience with content focused on drug misuse and vaccines. Additionally, the applicant must have at least 2 years’ experience in community outreach involving hands-on, immersive science enrichment programs at the Center of Science and Industry. Applicants must hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree.

Desired Experience: The ideal candidate will have significant experience in K-12 community outreach program development and delivery. Applicants should preferably have completed post-doctoral training in science education outreach.
