The cosmology group at Duke University invites applications for a research scientist specializing in the area of observational cosmology with Type Ia supernovae (SNIa). The applicant will work with Prof. Dan Scolnic and have leadership and managerial opportunities to take advantage of current and next generation SN experiments. A large contribution to the Wide-Field InfraRed Telescope (WFIRST) survey is expected, with additional contributions to the Dark Energy Survey (DES), Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) Dark Energy Science Collaboration (DESC) and SH0ES Collaboration.

We are searching for individuals with strong, past expertise in the WFIRST survey, as well as ties to other SN surveys. Experience with statistical methods for analysis of large SN samples is needed. Mentorship of graduate students working on a variety of projects is also a sought after skill.

The position is for two years, renewable for a third year upon mutual agreement. The position can start as soon as possible. Candidates must be two years past the year of the Ph.D. Applicants should prepare a cover letter, a current CV and list of publications, a research statement of less than three pages describing past accomplishments and research goals, and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent.
