The Department of Biology at Mount Allison University invites applications for a full-time 9-month sessional position. Applicants should possess or have nearly completed a Ph.D. and have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. We are seeking someone to teach a small section of our introductory biology course (BIOL 1001), as well as three upper level courses in the general areas of plant biology, ecology and evolution. Courses will be chosen based on the expertise of the successful candidate, but may include subjects like Conservation Biology (BIOL 3811), Native Flora (BIOL 3501), Physiological Plant Ecology (BIOL 3301), Field Ecology (BIOL 4111), or related material. An ability to deliver Biochemical Ecology (BIOL 3711) or Plant Physiology (BIOL 3941) to a combined biology and biochemistry audience would also be an asset. The successful candidate may also have the opportunity to supervise undergraduate research students, and will be expected to participate in departmental activities. The appointment will be made at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor and will commence on August 1, 2020, subject to budgetary approval.
