The group of Prof. BingKan Xue in the Department of Physics at the University of Florida is seeking a postdoctoral researcher interested in theoretical problems in biology and their connection to physics. Current research interests of the group include why organisms exhibit alternative traits within a population, how environment influences phenotypes and ecological interactions, and how evolution shapes the dynamical processes of development and learning.

The position is expected to start in August 2020. The appointment is initially for two years and can be extended for a third year upon mutual agreement. Competitive salary, travel support, and a benefits package are included. The successful candidate will be part of an exciting expansion in theoretical and experimental biological physics in the UF Physics Department.

Applicants should have a PhD in physics or a closely related discipline. Prior knowledge and research experience in biology is preferred but not required. Ideal candidates are expected to have broad theoretical interests, strong analytical skills, and adequate computational experience.
