Position Description:    

COLGATE UNIVERSITY

The department of political science at Colgate University seeks to fill a one-year position in American Politics at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. The appointment will begin in the fall of 2020. Candidates should be able to teach introductory courses in American Politics, as well as more advanced courses in the candidates’ areas of interest. Specialization is open but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Congress, political behavior, public policy, political psychology, and politics and the media. The teaching load is five courses over two semesters. Evidence of teaching excellence is essential. Completion of Ph.D. is expected prior to, or shortly after, the date of hire.
