Position Description:    

The Theory group of the Physics Department at the University of Milan Bicocca (Italy) invites applications for a Ph.D. fellowship in High-Energy Phenomenology, funded by the ERC grant REINVENT (PI Simone Alioli).

The successful applicants will be enrolled in the Ph.D. school at the Milan Bicocca University starting Fall 2020, for a period of three years. The Ph.D. fellowship will be endowed with a generous travel allowance supporting the participation in schools, conferences and collaboration meetings and scientific exchanges. The Ph.D. program offers several taught courses that will be delivered by members of the physics department as well as from external invited lecturers.

In addition to Collider Phenomenology, the research interests of the Theory Group cover a wide variety of subjects including String Theory, Lattice QCD, Statistical Physics, and Cosmology. There are currently 15 faculty members, 15 Postdocs, and 12 Ph.D. students, making the research environment very dynamic.

The salary range for the positions is competitive with European standards (approximate salary 15 kEuro/year after taxes).
