DevLab@Duke is looking to hire a Developer/Associate in Research to work on a machine learning project focused on forecasting changes to democratization around the world. The project involves extensive engagement with a pressing real-world problem and the policymakers working to address it.

We are seeking candidates with an MA in data science. Alternatively, an undergraduate degree in computer science, statistics, or a related discipline and with experience in natural language processing will be considered. The following qualifications are required for this position:

a. Undergraduate degree in hand at the start of the position.

b. Programming experience in Python (and to a lesser degree, R).

c. Experience with applied statistics/regression models.

This is a full-time position with a competitive annual salary, plus Duke’s fringe benefits (including health care). The application will remain open until the position is filled.
