Position Description:    

The astro-particle physics division at the Max-Planck-Institut fuer Kernphysik (MPIK) in Heidelberg invites applications for a post-doctoral position for research in coherent neutrino scattering with CONUS, upgrades towards CONUS100 and applications of low energy threshold Germanium detectors for other topics.

MPIK conducts research on a broad range of basic research in experimental and theoretical particle and astro-particle physics. The division has a strong or leading involvement in the neutrino experiments CONUS, Gerda/LEGEND-200, STEREO and in direct dark matter search in XENON and DARWIN. The division has also strong theoretical support and various other projects at MPIK and at nearby Heidelberg University provide a very stimulating environment. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in experimental particle or nuclear physics. Applications should include a CV, a statement of research interests and a publication list. Two or three letters of reference should also be provided. Applications should arrive by April 30, 2020. Later applications will be considered until the position is filled.
