Research Scientist – Part-time

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a Part-time Research Scientist in the Biointerface Science lab. A successful applicant will have obtained a PhD (or equivalent terminal degree) in a relevant field (biology, biomedical engineering, etc.) and be self-starter, flexible, and have good attention to detail. Strong candidates will have prior experience in surface science, in-vitro diagnostic test and antibody development and protein engineering. Specific responsibilities will include POEGMA brush synthesis, D4 Assay test development and optimization, antibody and overall protein expression and purification, cell culture and integration of diagnostic chip devices to handheld fluorescence reading platforms. Research scientists are expected to publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, participate in conferences for the intellectual exchange of research ideas, engage in existing and new collaborations within and outside Duke University, and assist with training of undergraduate and graduate students, as needed.

Educations requirements: PhD or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field
