Position Description: |
The Department of Physics, the Graduate Institute of Applied Physics and the Graduate Institute of Astrophysics of National Taiwan University seek to fill several faculty positions, effective in August 2021, at the assistant, associate or full Professor level commensurate with qualifications. Serious consideration will be given to outstanding candidates in all fields of physics. Candidates should be able to teach effectively at both graduate and undergraduate levels with Mandarin and/or English, and conduct a vigorous research program at the same time. Teaching in Mandarin is not required. Postdoctoral or faculty experience is highly desirable. The annual salary will be 13.5 monthly salaries.For newly hired faculty with excellent research record, the University and the funding agencies may provide additional stipends and higher research grants. The system produces creative students with high performance in the world, especially in mathematics and science. For candidates who cannot speak Mandarin, it is not a problem to live in Taiwan with English. A teaching load is up to 3 courses per year, and it may be reduced to 2 courses per year for the first 3 years.
