The Division of Materials Science and Engineering at the Ames Laboratory, a Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratory affiliated with Iowa State University, is seeking one or more qualified Postdoctoral Research Associates to perform research in the area of quantum computing and quantum algorithm development for simulations of strongly correlated quantum materials. The work will be performed as part of a research team led by Y. Yao and P. P. Orth. The positions are funded by multiple DOE-sponsored Quantum Information Science (QIS) initiatives in materials research.
The successful candidate(s) will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and will be able to communicate effectively to a wide variety of audiences. The individual must be able to work effectively with team members.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. must be completed prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph. D. in condensed matter physics, computational physics, materials science, quantum chemistry or related areas.
Experience in condensed matter theory of correlated materials.
Knowledge of analytical and/or computational many-body techniques suitable for correlated materials.
Research experience in the field of strongly correlated materials.
Programming experience in Python, Fortran90+, C/C++ and/or any of the quantum programming languages. |
