The Liang group in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas Tech University is seeking a motivated and independent postdoc to work on the multiscale simulation of photoactive proteins.

Qualifications:
1. Ph.D. degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or related field
2. Research experience in at least one of the following areas:
    Biomolecular simulation
    Excited-state electronic structure calculation
    Quantum dynamics and mixed quantum-classical dynamics simulation
    Enhanced sampling method and free energy calculation
    Protein interactions, assembly, binding and allostery
    Machine learning
3. Good publication record
4. Effective verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:
Possible research topics involve studying photochemical reactions in biomolecules using advanced electronic structure and quantum dynamics methods, and developing enhanced sampling methods for studying chemical reactions in biomolecules. The successful candidate is expected to actively discuss research progress with the PI, attend conferences to present his/her research, and publish high-quality results. Other responsibilities may include mentoring new graduate students.

Appointment:
The initial employment is one year, with the possibility of extension.

Salary:
The annual salary for this position is around 50,000 USD.
