Instructor Faculty Position University of Massachusetts Medical School

An instructor position is available in the ZhuGe laboratory of the Department of Microbiology and Physiological Systems at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. The research projects in the laboratory focus on the molecular understanding of ion channels and G-protein coupled receptors in health and disease. The laboratory uses interdisciplinary approaches, including advanced widefield high-speed imaging and multiphoton imaging, patch-clamp, muscle tissue or single-cell contraction bioassays, mouse models of disease, computer modeling, and molecular biological techniques. The ideal candidate should be highly self-motivated, work independently, and have a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degree with substantial experience in physiology and molecular biology as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals. Candidates with expertise in imaging, gene-editing technology, electrophysiology, and smooth muscle patholophysiology will be given priority. The position is offered with a highly competitive salary and a generous fringe benefit package.
