The Department of Energy’s Institute for Nuclear Theory, at the University of Washington, invites applications for an “INT Fellow” position starting Fall 2021. This position carries the rank of Research Assistant Professor within the Physics Department, and is a limited term appointment for a duration of up to 5 years. This is a full-time, 12-month position and is not eligible for tenure. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Opportunities are available for teaching and graduate student supervision. The INT’s local research interests include QCD, lattice gauge theory, quantum computing, many-body theory, nuclear astrophysics, effective field theory, weak interactions and symmetries, relativistic heavy ion physics, high energy nuclear physics, and nuclear structure. The Institute hosts approximately 450 visiting scientists each year, representing all areas of nuclear physics as well as its intersections with neighboring subfields. Qualifications Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) and a strong record of published research in nuclear theory, broadly defined.
