Faculty Position in Theriogenology

The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University invites applications for a one-year clinical track position in the Section of Theriogenology starting on or around July 2021. Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree, and board certification by the American College of Theriogenologists (or European College of Animal Reproduction) or have successfully completed a residency in theriogenology and are eligible for board certification. Salary and rank will be commensurate with academic credentials and experience.

Clinical competence in companion animal theriogenology is required and expertise in all domestic species is preferred. Effort will be distributed among clinical teaching and service in the Cornell University Hospital for Animals, research, and didactic and laboratory instruction of veterinary students and residents. The candidate should exhibit outstanding interpersonal skills and a cooperative work ethic that will interface well with all sections of the hospital. Clinical duties require flexibility in that working hours may include daytime, evening, and weekend responsibilities.

The section of theriogenology at Cornell has two faculty members, two residents and two dedicated technicians (one full-time; one part-time) who work in a modern, well-equipped teaching hospital with a diverse large and small animal caseload. The successful clinical track candidate will develop and extend our clinical expertise and contribute to innovative teaching while engaging in collaborative research. Extensive opportunities for collaborative research exist at the College and University, including Weill Medical College and technology campuses in New York City.

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
