The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for the Rhesa “Ray” S. Farmer Jr. Distinguished Chair in Embedded Computer Systems and Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) Eminent Scholar. Applications are invited from candidates with research focus in advanced computing concepts with special emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) including devices, circuits, computing architecture, computing models including quantum computing, hardware-software co-design, distributed and networked computing, and reconfigurable computing. The interaction of artificial intelligence and novel approaches for platform technologies, energy efficiency, domain-specific acceleration and efficient implementation of emerging computing models are of interest.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, or equivalent) in engineering or related field. Successful candidates will be senior faculty with a demonstrated capability to lead a highly impactful and translational research program; provide outstanding mentorship to trainees and junior faculty; and enrich and engage in a collegial departmental environment. Candidates must have an internationally recognized track record of research development and funding, and be eligible for appointment as a full professor with tenure to continue their leadership in contemporary engineering and innovation. Successful candidates will be expected to develop a vibrant externally-funded research program and to participate in teaching and advising undergraduate and graduate students.
