Chapman University invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in Environmental Science & Policy, an interdisciplinary program
that draws from expertise in both the Schmid College of Science and Technology
and the Wilkinson College of Art, Humanities and Social Sciences. These
faculty positions will hold joint appointments in both Schmid and Wilkinson
Colleges. areas including but not limited to: • Climate issues • Environmental health • Environmental justice • Sustainability governance • Water policy We value candidates who can identify avenues for collaboration both within and outside of the institution. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field in the natural or social sciences (or related area) by the expected 8/1/21 position start date. The successful candidates are expected to lead a
rigorous research program, which could include publishing books and/or articles
in peer-reviewed journals, securing extramural funding, and incorporating
undergraduate students in research, depending on the candidate’s specialty
area. Teaching responsibilities will support the interdisciplinary B.S. degree
in Environmental Science & Policy (www.chapman.edu/esp)
and may also include courses based on the candidate’s field of expertise.
Service to both Schmid and Wilkinson Colleges is also expected of successful
candidates. Tenure track faculty are expected to develop and maintain an active
research agenda for future tenure consideration and are evaluated on their research/scholarly
activity, teaching and service.
