The Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences at Boston University invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the systems neuroscience of complex behavior in animal models (rodents), to begin July 2021. The search is defined broadly to attract a diverse pool of outstanding candidates. Examples of specific research areas of interest include (but are not restricted to) drug abuse, incentive motivation, and reward processing. We are also interested in researchers using cutting-edge methodologies that have been a focus of the federal BRAIN initiative (e.g., calcium imaging, optogenetics, many neuron recording). Researchers will join an interdisciplinary team of systems neuroscientists studying the neural basis of complex behavior in our departmental Brain, Behavior, and Cognition Program and the Center for Systems Neuroscience.
