The High Energy Theory/String Theory Group in the Department of Physics at Virginia Tech invites applications for a post-doctoral researcher or research associate in Theoretical High Energy Physics and String Theory, anticipated to begin in September 2021. The focus of the position is on string theory, including string compactifications, sigma models, F-theory, effective theories and string geometry and phenomenology.
Candidates must have a PhD degree by the appointment start date. This position is available starting from September 2021 and is renewable for up to two years (i.e. three years duration in total), depending on performance.
