The Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies in the School of Arts and Sciences at Brandeis University invites applications for the two-year Allen-Berenson Postdoctoral Fellowship at the rank of Lecturer beginning in the academic year 2021-2022. We invite applicants whose work focuses on Native American and Indigenous women, genders, and sexualities to apply. We welcome a variety of disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives, and are especially interested in scholars who bring an intersectional approach to their intellectual work. The successful candidate should demonstrate past experience working with Indigenous communities and a commitment to continued engagement. Duties include teaching one course each semester in the candidate’s specialty and in the above-stated field. This position is subject to budget approval. The Fellow will receive a 2021-2022 salary of $60,000, plus benefits, a modest moving expense allowance, and a research fund of up to $4,000 per year.

Candidates must have completed their Ph.D. and start their fellowship by August 2021. Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, names and contact information for three referees, and a sample of scholarly work as it relates to Native American and Indigenous women, genders and sexualities. Brandeis University is committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all areas of faculty effort, including scholarship, instruction, and service. Applicants should address at least one of these areas of faculty effort in their cover letter or in a separate statement, indicating how their experiences, interests, commitments, or future goals could promote and build departmental and institutional pluralism, justice, and unity. Only online applications will be accepted. Application materials may be uploaded here: https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/17285. First consideration will be given to applications received by January 15, 2021. Questions about the position can be directed to: abrandon@brandeis.edu.
