The department of physics at Boston University invites applications for a postdoctoral position in experimental physics in the group of Prof. Alex Sushkov. The group's research is focused on precision experiments in the fields of fundamental physics and condensed matter physics.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead a variety of experiments, and interact with the broader physics community in the Boston/Cambridge area, as well as with our collaborators at Mainz and Stanford.

Our group's table-top searches for new fundamental physics include CASPEr - an NMR-based search for ultra-light dark matter, and SHAFT - a search for ultra-light dark matter based on ferromagnets. Quantum condensed matter physics experiments include several projects using nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond for nanoscale sensing and nanoscale magnetic resonance. More details can be found at the group's website: http://sites.bu.edu/alex

We encourage candidates to submit their applications by March 31, 2022, although later applications will be considered if the position is still open. The position start date is flexible. The required application materials are: a short cover letter, a curriculum vitae including a full list of publications, a statement of research interests, and at least three letters of recommendation. Applications should be submitted through the academic jobs online website.
