Position Description: |
The Department of Physics at the University of Milano-Bicocca is expected
to be able to fill a Postdoc position in high-energy theory, to start
indicatively in Fall 2021. The main scientific focus of the project will
be on Higher-Order calculations, Resummation and Monte Carlo event
generation. The position would be initially for two years, with the possibility of a
third-year extension. It is funded by the Italian FARE Grant "Precise
Predictions for Particle Phenomenology" (PI: Simone Alioli) The research interests of the Theory Group at Milano-Bicocca & INFN cover a
wide variety of subjects including Collider Phenomenology, String Theory,
Statistical Physics, Lattice QCD and Cosmology. In total, there are
currently 13 faculty members, 15 Postdocs, and 12 Ph.D. students.
The Phenomenology group has 3 faculty members (Alioli, Nason, Oleari), 6
postdocs (Broggio, Lim, Kallweit, Nagar, Napoletano, Gomez Ambrosio) and
3 PhD students. The main research lines focus on higher-order
calculations, shower Monte Carlo and resummation. Close collaboration
exists with the local CMS and LHCb experimental groups and with the
Phenomenology group at the University of Milano. The salary range for the Postdoc position is competitive with European
standards. A generous travel allowance is also foreseen. Questions and
