The particle theory group at Northwestern University anticipates hiring several postdoctoral fellows to start in Fall 2021. The appointments are for two years, renewable for a third year depending on performance and the availability of funds. Positions joint with Argonne National Laboratory may also be available.

The group consists of four faculty members: John Joseph Carrasco, Andre de Gouvea, Ian Low and Frank Petriello. The research interests of the group span a large variety of topics in high energy theory, including the structure of scattering amplitudes, neutrino physics, beyond-the-Standard Model phenomenology, precision Quantum Chromodynamics, and the application of effective field theories to outstanding problems in particle physics. Northwestern also has a strong experimental particle physics group with involvement in the CMS experiment at the LHC as well as in both direct and indirect searches for dark matter.

Applications should include a cover letter, a CV, and a description of research interests. In addition, applicants should arrange to have three letters of recommendation submitted. Applications and recommendations should be submitted through AcademicJobsOnline.org. If you have questions, please contact one of the faculty members listed above.
