Chapman University’s
graduate program in Physician Assistant Studies seeks applications for a
Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. Successful candidates
will begin in the Spring/Summer 2021.

Qualifications
|
Graduate of a fully accredited PA, MD, or DO Program.
Eligibility for California licensure as a PA, MD, or DO. PAs must have
master’s degree or higher, and active NCCPA certification. Preference
will be given to candidates who also hold a second graduate degree such as
PhD, Ed.D., D.Sc., MPH, M.S., or other graduate degree that would complement
the PA program. Experience teaching in medical or higher education,
inter-professional education, and incorporating technology into teaching and
professional practice is highly desirable. Preference will be given to
candidates who have experience and are proficient in hands on clinical
skills.

Responsibilities
|
Teach and direct course(s) in area(s)
of medical expertise and knowledge, create course syllabi, assist in
curriculum development and assessment in medical modules such as Cardiology,
Neurology, Gastroenterology, etc., and teach in the clinical skills course.
Maintain clinical competency, participate in inter-professional education
experiences, assist in clinical site recruitment and maintenance, and help
the clinical year team. Candidate will also participate in admissions
process, University and community service, and ongoing program accreditation,
evaluations, assessment, assist with the student society within
program, and any other tasks/responsibilities as directed by the Program
Chair and/or Dean of Crean College of Health & Behavioral Sciences.

Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status
to the Chapman University-Crean College MMS PA Studies Program sponsored by
Chapman University. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status
granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards. Accreditation remains in effect until
the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until
accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next
validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be September 2030. The
review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards
