The Department of Physics and Astronomy, College of Science, of Texas A&M University invites applications for an assistant professor position in all areas of experimental and theoretical high energy physics. This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position with a nine-month academic appointment. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2021.

The successful candidate will establish a vigorous, independent research program that will attract external funding, assume full teaching responsibilities at the graduate and undergraduate levels of physics, and contribute to the service missions of the department. 


We are particularly interested in candidates with research programs that will either strengthen or create strong synergies with one or more of the existing research areas in the department.  Members of the high energy physics group are part of the George P. and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Institute for Fundamental Physics and Astronomy.  The Institute features world-class programs in theoretical particle physics, astroparticle physics, and experimental high energy physics.  Texas A&M University is currently participating in the CMS, LUX, SuperCDMS, and MINER experiments.

The successful candidate must hold an earned PhD or equivalent advanced degree in physics or a related field and have a strong, demonstrated record of original research.
