Chapman University and Dodge College of Film and Media Arts seek applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in film production for its nationally recognized Dodge College of Film and Media Arts beginning August 2021.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in film production or a related discipline and a broad knowledge of film history and aesthetic theory. Candidates should have a proven record of teaching directing actors, script analysis, visual storytelling, and pre-production planning at an advanced level. Candidates should demonstrate an ongoing commitment to teaching and creative productivity and the strong potential for continued creative work of national significance while teaching fulltime. Candidates are preferred who have varied professional experience and/or varied teaching experience in areas such as script development, screenwriting, acting, cinematography, production design, production management, editing, sound mixing, computer generated imagery, and color correction for narrative feature films, television, and other forms of contemporary media. Experience in VR or AR is also a plus.
