Position Description:

*** this position has been closed and new applications are no longer accepted. ***

We invite applications for a postdoctoral position in a multidisciplinary environment between particle physics and engineering of metasurfaces and nanofabrication. The successful applicant will work in collaboration with Prof. Roxanne Guenette and Prof. Federico Capasso and will interact with the rest of the physics and engineering communities at Harvard.

The Guenette group is involved in the development of instrumentation for noble element detectors for neutrino physics, including the study of neutrino oscillation with the DUNE experiments and the search for neutrinoless double-beta decays with the NEXT experiment.

The Capasso group is involved in the design, simulation and optimization of high efficiency metasurfaces as a key optical component for the noble element detectors.

The postdoctoral scholar will be expected to carry research related to the development of metalenses for applications to noble element detectors. Strong expertise in nanofabrication is necessary and design of metasurfaces will be highly valued in the selection process. Experience in application of nano devices to high energy physics will also be of high relevance to the position.

The duration of the appointment is up to two years, with renewable one-year terms. Please submit a curriculum vitae, a publication list, a statement of research interests and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted. The application should be uploaded through AcademicJobOnline. To be sure to have your application considered, all material should be received by December 1, 2020, but the position will remain open until filled. The appointment is contingent upon completion of a Ph.D.
