The research group of Dr. David Burghoff in the Electrical Engineering department at Notre Dame is looking for talented and self-motivated postdoctoral researchers to conduct research in the area of semiconductor frequency combs. The postdoc will conduct research in the area of coherent and quantum optoelectronics, and will exploit new physics to explore unique sensing modalities.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or related areas
  • Hands-on experience in nanofabrication of semiconductor devices, especially in III-V devices. Experience in the fabrication of intersubband optoelectronics is ideal but not required.
  • Solid understanding of optoelectronics and solid-state device physics
  • Experience in developing and optimizing new fabrication processes

This is a fixed-term appointment for six months from the date of hire, with the possibility of renewal for an additional eighteen months.
