Position Description:    

The Biological Complexity Unit at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), Japan, headed by Prof. Simone Pigolotti, is looking for an outstanding candidate for a postdoctoral position. The research unit studies biological systems using mathematical and computational methods of nonequilibrium statistical physics.

Qualifications (Required) An ideal candidate would have a Ph.D. in theoretical biophysics, statistical physics or related topics, excellent analytical/computational skills. Specific experience in working with metagenomic data and in the topic of the project are added values.

Report to: Professor Simone Pigolotti, Biological Complexity Unit

Starting Date: To be agreed with the candidate

Term: Full-time, fixed term appointment for 1 year, renewable for another two years upon mutual agreement.

Working hours: 9:00-17:30 (Discretionary)
