Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Biomedical Engineering Duke University

Building upon our commitment to foster an inclusive and equitable environment, the Biomedical Engineering Department at the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University invites highly qualified applications for a tenure-track faculty position at Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. Applicants for the positions must have a demonstrated record of excellence in, and show exceptional promise for, high-quality research, teaching, and professional development. In addition, applicants must have a demonstrated record of interest in and commitment to the mentorship of students from underrepresented and under served populations.

We anticipate hiring at the Assistant Professor level, although truly exceptional candidates may be considered at the level of Associate or Full Professor. Applicants whose work bridges several research areas and who envision cross-departmental collaborations are particularly encouraged to apply. Where appropriate, hiring and recruitment will be coordinated as a joint effort with other departments at Duke University.

By the time of hiring, candidates are expected to have been awarded a doctoral degree in a quantitative field. Once hired, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, to obtain competitive external funding, to establish a vibrant research program, and to contribute through service to the welfare of the department and to the promotion of their discipline. We seek faculty members committed to building a diverse and inclusive community that fosters excellence in research and teaching.
