Interested in the physics of biological systems?

What makes nature work? What are the organizing principles behind complex biological systems? Postdoc positions are available in a dynamic new theory group at the Racah Institute of Physics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

We are looking for talented, enthusiastic scientists, interested in the physics of biological systems, especially of the immune system, the microbiome and their interactions.

Projects vary in scope and focus:

  • Theoretical biophysics and/or information theory
  • Numerical simulations of stochastic and nonlinear biophysical systems
  • Machine learning on biomedical data, especially at the immune/microbiome interface
  • Microbiome bioinformatics
  • Close collaborations with biological/biophysical experimental groups
Requirements are: (i) A PhD in physics, biophysics, mathematical biology, biological engineering, or related area; (ii) At least one first-author publication; (iii) Excellent command of spoken and written English.
