Professor of Practice faculty position in Structural Design

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University (Ithaca campus) seeks a highly qualified structural engineer to join our faculty as a Professor of Practice. While a Ph.D. is not required, candidates must have P.E. or S.E. licensure, at least ten years of distinguished professional practice as a structural engineer, and strong industry linkages. The successful candidate will teach courses in structural design of buildings and/or bridges (steel and reinforced/prestressed concrete), oversee our professional masters degree program in structural engineering, and foster internship and entry-level hiring opportunities with industrial partners.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of applications will begin March 15, 2021 and will continue until the position is filled.

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.
  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
  • Unique applicable skills.
