Policy Analyst/ Research Assistant The Robert J. Margolis, MD, Center for Health Policy at Duke University has an opening for a Policy Analyst or Research Assistant focused in health care payment and delivery. The work site for this position will be the Duke-Margolis offices in either Durham, NC or Washington, DC. Employees are currently teleworking locally to their office base while on-site access is restricted due to COVID-19. The Robert J. Margolis, MD, Center
for Health Policy at Duke University seeks to address critical health policy
challenges and deliver practical, innovative, and evidence-based solutions to
improve health and the value of health care. The interdisciplinary nature of
Duke-Margolis brings together policy experts, researchers, health care
professionals, and students from across Duke’s schools of medicine, nursing,
law, public policy, business, and engineering, and fosters extensive
relationships with stakeholders both internal and external. These relationships
span foundations, private sector organizations, state and federal governments,
and global entities. The Center fosters excellence, leadership, and scholarship
at every level. This Policy Analyst/ Research Assistant position will support Center projects with research, writing, and analysis with a focus on health care delivery and payment reform at the state and national level. The individual in this role may also collaborate on projects spanning a broad range of topics of interest to the Center, including state-level COVID-19 response. Primary responsibilities include conducting background research, performing literature reviews, drafting summary documents, extensive writing for a range of deliverable types (e.g., policy briefs, white papers, blog posts), and supporting Center events and convening. This will include support for project activities through coordination, logistics management, and some administrative tasks. Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
Prior professional research experience in academia, government, or a research
organization is preferred. Applicants may be considered for the Policy Analyst level if they have the following minimum education and experience:
