Description: Houghton College invites applications for full-time or part-time appointment in the Department of Business and Economics at the assistant or associate level starting in August 2021. This position involves teaching 24-25 credit hours per academic year in an area of Finance, Leadership, Management, Economics, or Law, with the possibility of teaching other business-related courses. A majority of the teaching load will be for undergraduate courses, with potential for graduate-level course assignments.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will participate in departmental meetings and activities, contribute to curriculum assessment and development, and share in academic advising of students in each department.
Qualifications:
Required:
• An MA or MBA with a specialization in a business field is required. A doctoral degree in a business-related field is preferred.
• An interest and willingness to offer courses online and in hybrid flexible format
Preferred:
• Professional work history in the field
• Classroom teaching experience with college-level learners
• Experience in online delivery of instruction
Also required is ability to help students form respectful attitudes and interactions with people who differ in abilities, attitudes, and cultural experience, with sensitivity to factors that affect our own assessment of others.
Other important qualities for this position include a commitment to excellence and creativity in undergraduate teaching, a mature Christian faith, and an ability to integrate Christian faith with teaching.
