The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) invites applications for a teaching faculty position with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2021. We are giving full consideration to applications at any rank (Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Teaching Professor). Final appointment decisions will reflect qualification and experience. This position is not tenured nor on the tenure-track. The emphasis of this position is in computational data science and data literacy. The Department is looking for an individual with a strong interest in teaching undergraduate courses focused on computational aspects in data science, and in innovative teaching methods. The successful candidate is expected to, in collaboration with other faculty in the department, play a strong role in developing and managing our curriculum & pedagogy in the data science area.

Applicants should have a doctoral degree in computer science, or a closely related field. Qualified applicants should submit a complete application including:

● Teaching statement; in particular addressing pedagogical philosophy, methods, and creativity, as well as, their vision for undergraduate data science education

● References; applicants wishing to be considered for a senior lecturer or teaching professor appointment will need to provide contact information for at least three references

● Teaching evaluations; when available applicants are encouraged to provide a representative sample of teaching evaluations for a range of recently taught courses
