The Department of Health
Sciences within Chapman University’s Crean College of Health & Behavioral
Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of
public health position, to begin in August 2021.

Qualifications
|
We are looking for exemplary
scholars dedicated to advancing public health research and improving health
and wellbeing in health disparities populations.
A Ph.D. in Public Health or related area is required.
Consistent with career stage, the successful candidate will have a strong
record of innovative research in public health, with emphasis in one or more
of the following priority areas: epidemiology, chronic and/or infectious
disease, immunology. The successful candidate should also have a strong track
record and dedication to teaching foundational and advanced courses (e.g.,
physiology, epidemiology), as well as mentoring and training the next
generation of public health leaders.

Responsibilities
|
The successful candidate will
(1) develop and maintain an extramurally-funded research program, (2) teach
foundational and advanced courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, (3)
advise and mentor undergraduate students, and (4) participate in service activities
for the department, school, and university. Tenure track faculty are expected
to develop and maintain an active research agenda for future tenure
consideration and are evaluated on their research/scholarly activity,
teaching, and service.
