Multiple Tenure-track Immunology Faculty Positions

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology and the Center for Immunology at Cornell University invite applications from scientists focused on Molecular or Cellular Immunology for multiple tenure-track positions at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor levels.  These recruitments are part of the Cornell Provost’s Radical Collaborations initiative designed to bring to the Ithaca campus individuals who work at the cutting edge of their discipline and who will contribute new insights to our scientific community.  We are seeking outstanding investigators who use innovative approaches to study innate or adaptive immunity, including but not limited to host-microbe interactions, mucosal immunity, tumor immunology, neuro-immunology, autoimmunity and vaccines.  Candidates with interests in high-dimensional genomic and imaging approaches are particularly encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates will join a highly interactive group of faculty within the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, located in the College of Veterinary Medicine.  Research strengths include host-microbe interactions, innate immunity, T and B cell development and effector function, novel vaccine design, immunodiagnostics, and immune-engineering.  Cornell University offers exceptional technical resources in many areas, with state-of-the-art core facilities, including genomics, proteomics and metabolomics, flow cytometry, multiphoton microscopy, and in vitro BSL3 and animal ABSL3 facilities. Cornell maintains a strong commitment to interdisciplinary studies spanning multiple departments, and sustains many integrative cross-campus initiatives between Cornell University and Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City.

Located in Ithaca NY, the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York State, Cornell University is a center for discovery, academic leadership and service.  We seek exceptional scientists to contribute to our climate of collegiality, academic excellence and diversity, as well as our strong commitment to teaching and mentoring, which enhances our efforts to build and maintain a diverse research community. Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., D.V.M., or equivalent advanced degree, an outstanding record of research productivity and the ability to develop and sustain a creative independent research program.

To apply, please submit the following: a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a two-page summary of research goals, contact information for three references, and a statement of contributions to inclusion and diversity. All materials must be submitted as PDF files at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/18015 (Internal ID #WDR-00024742). Review of applications will begin on March 14, 2021 and will continue until the positions are filled.  For more information, contact Professor Deborah Fowell, Chair of the Search Committee at mifacultysearch@cornell.edu.

What is a Statement of Contribution to Inclusion and Diversity?

This statement invites applicants to describe their past, present and/or future aspirations to promote equity, inclusion, and diversity in their careers as researchers, clinicians and educators, and/or to convey how they see these commitments continuing at Cornell.  This statement can focus on teaching, research, or service, or it can include all three.
