ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF FINANCE

Candidates are sought for a tenure track, Assistant Professor of Finance faculty appointment in the Department of Finance to be effective Fall Semester 2021. Late stage doctoral students who expect to graduate by August 2021 or recent PhD graduates in finance or a related discipline are preferred. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to conduct high-level research publishable in the premier academic finance journals.

Applicants should have expertise in supporting the RCB’s strategic goal of becoming one of the few leading business schools at the forefront of transforming business education and research in the areas of FinTech, data analytics, and financial innovation and entrepreneurship. Opportunities for conducting research in these areas are excellent with many similarly interested colleagues in the Department of Finance and other units in the RCB including the Institute for Insight, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute, and School of Accountancy. The Department also organizes an annual FinTech research conference in partnership with the Review of Financial Studies. The RCB is among the first U.S. business schools to operate a FinTech Laboratory. Further, the RCB is the host institution for the University System of Georgia’s FinTech Academy, which serves to bring together the burgeoning Georgia FinTech business community with academic institutions to develop future leaders in the sector through innovative educational programs. The Department also values a commitment to quality teaching at the undergraduate, MBA, MS, and PhD levels.
