Faculty Search Announcement Organizational Behavior – Tenure Track Assistant Professor Department of Management Robinson College of Business Georgia State University Atlanta, Georgia

The Robinson College of Business (RCB) of Georgia State University (GSU) invites candidates for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor within the Department of Management in the area of Organizational Behavior to be effective August 2021. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to publish high-quality research in premier management journals. They should have earned (or will complete) a Ph.D. in a relevant field from an AACSB-accredited university (or international equivalent) prior to appointment. The Department values a commitment to quality teaching at the undergraduate, master’s, and PhD levels. Salary, teaching load, and research support are competitive with other Research 1 universities.

Applicants should have expertise in supporting the GSU’s strategic goal of becoming a national model of diversity and inclusion and the RCB’s strategic goal of being at the forefront of transforming business education and research through convergence of new technologies and digital capabilities. We are especially interested in hiring scholars with interests in studying technologies (AI, automation, robotics etc.), workforce diversity and inclusion, social justice and their impact on employee and organization wellbeing. Successful candidates will complement current faculty and contribute to research mission of the department and the college’s commitment to AACSB award-winning programs including the Institute for Insight—a newly created unit with a research focus on how the computing and digital capabilities of the future can transform business and society, and WomenLead—a signature experience designed to promote women as future leaders, and the university’s commitment to providing educational opportunities to one of the most diverse student bodies in the U.S. The successful applicant will join a department of faculty and staff who are committed to innovative teaching; diverse, equitable, and inclusive excellence; and interdisciplinary collaboration.

ABOUT THE FACULTY The Department of Management is composed of outstanding and collegial faculty whose research and teaching interests represent different facets of management including Organizational Behavior (OB), Human Resource Management (HRM), Strategic Management, Operations Management, and Business Analysis. Currently, the OB/HRM group includes the following management scholars: Kris Byron, Ashley Fulmer, Chad Hartnell, Songqi Liu, Todd Maurer and Ed Miles. Our recent work appears in premier outlets such as Academy of Management Annals, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Organization Science, Personnel Psychology, and Psychological Bulletin. Faculty research has also received support from the National Science Foundation. Several faculty members fulfill major editorial roles in premier publication outlets and serve leadership positions at professional organizations including multiple divisions under the Academy of Management. They also engage with colleagues in other units of the Robinson College of Business, GSU, and neighboring and international universities in a variety of professional activities. The OB/HRM faculty’s research mission is to improve employees’ experiences, ingenuity, and productivity at work – enabling them as resources for organizations to anticipate and rapidly respond to changes in their competitive landscape. Toward this end, we adopt innovative approaches to research that derive impactful insights, solve current problems, and provide forward-looking solutions associated with the future of work.
