The Department of English at Colgate University invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor in poetry before 1800, beginning fall semester 2021. Teaching assignment of five courses will include our introductory course in British poetry. See course information here: https://www.colgate.edu/academics/course-offerings#/202002/10273. The ability to offer a course in Milton is desirable. Completion of Ph.D. is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum course Legacies of the Ancient World.
