POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Faculty Appointment — International Security Policy

Stanford University seeks a distinguished scientist or a rising star in science or engineering with significant interest in international security policy. This will be either a freestanding faculty position within the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI) or a joint appointment between FSI and the schools of Engineering, Medicine or Earth.

Applicants should possess an exceptional record of research and publication and be committed to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants should also have substantial interest or proven expertise in making, advising or implementing policy. The successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership for the study of international security policy at Stanford University.

The new faculty member will be appointed a Senior Fellow for a continuing-term with an endowed chair (equivalent to the level of associate or full professor). A joint appointment with another school is possible.
